As the weather in the Northern Hemisphere warms up, so are the options of travelling across the world. From more countries in the world publishing their list of green (safe) countries to travel being published some countries such as the UK. The approval of the most widely used COVID vaccination (Sinopharm) by the World Health Organisation. To the easing of travel and quarantine requirements in the United States, the world's largest aviation market as we speak. Aviation traffic and demand is certainly picking up and we expect this trend to carry on for the rest of the year.
Emirates Airlines plans to return to 70% pre COVID capacity by the end of 2021.
This was the statement made by Emirates Chief Commercial Officer in the run up to the upcoming Arabian Travel Market conference next week. The importance of international co-operation however, was emphasised.
The airline has recently focused on building relationships with governments which are open for business whilst guaranteeing the safety of their passengers. The airline has is also focusing on travelling to profitable destinations and not on gaining market share.
The World Health Organisation approves the use of the Sinopharm COVID vaccine.
The Chinese made vaccine, mostly used in China, Asia and the Middle East, has received emergency clearance for international use by the WHO (World Health Organisation). Joining the vaccines such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Oxford/Astra Zeneca amongst others to be internationally recognised as safe for administration and approved for use worldwide. This is welcome news to the travel industry as countries such as the United States until recently only allowed passengers vaccinate with a WHO approved vaccination to be able to travel into the country without undergoing any quarantine. Opening the way for Middles Eastern travellers back into the continent.
Space Debris makes for an interesting 24 hours.
Earlier this week it was announced that the remnants of a Chinese Rocket was going to crash land back on earth on May 9th at an undisclosed time. After several flight warnings being issued by Civil Aviation Authorities worldwide. Parts of the rocket later landed safely away from civilisation in the Indian Ocean.

WizzAir has announced a new round of Cabin Crew vacancies. Previously announced in our Middle East Aviation update on July 21st. The European carrier, whilst headquartered in Budapest, Hungary. Has bucked the trend in aviation by expanding in the last 18 months, opening a subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates in the process. In addition to its new Middle Eastern destinations and with 27 bases around Europe, it is looking to increase its capacity before the end of the year.
